Persecution of Christians review: Foreign Secretary’s speech following the final report
Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt thanked Bishop Mounstephen for his report about Foreign & Commonwealth Office support for persecuted Christians.

Good morning ladies, gentleman. Welcome to the Foreign Office.
When I was moving house last year, I came across a book called God’s Smuggler which I first read when I was about 10. At the height of the Cold War, Brother Andrew van der Bijl would smuggle Bibles across the Iron Curtain to communist countries where Christianity was ruthlessly suppressed.

The Bishop of Truro’s independent review for the Foreign Secretary of FCO support for persecuted Christians final report was published yesterday.
Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt said: “When Islamist terrorists struck Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday, killing over 250 people, this was the third Easter in a row disfigured by a terrorist attack somewhere in the world. And these attacks stand alongside the equally appalling attacks on worshippers in mosques in Christchurch in New Zealand, reminding us how people across the world, of all faiths are still in this, the 21st century, being murdered for their religion. So I warmly welcome this report and its recommendations. We are working across Government to agree a formal collective response as soon as possible.”
"In the light of the vast scale of the problem of Christian persecution and the variable support provided across the FCO Network the Independent Review team urge the Foreign Secretary to ensure that a follow-up independent mechanism is established in three years’ time to ensure that the FCO Network has implemented in full the recommendations of this Final Report in support of vulnerable Christian communities, and the exercise and protection of their inalienable rights under Article 18 of the Universal Declaration. This is not only for the sake of the followers of Jesus Christ, but because, like the ‘canary in the mine’, they point to the needs and freedoms of all." (Conclusion, p125)

In general the authorities have failed to prosecute those who attack Christians and have instead enforced state-sponsored reconciliation agreements which provide impunity for the perpetrators and leave Christians vulnerable to future attacks.

Hani Morris Coptic Christian jailed on false charges in Kuwait, sues Kuwaiti government
After Canada accepted his Asylum for Protection as a refugee from Kuwait, Hani Morris, an Egyptian Coptic Christian, filed a lawsuit against Kuwait, and more specifically against two major institutions there, Al Mulla Motors and United Ahli bank in Kuwait. The case was accepted by the Canadian Court.

للذين جبلوا على كراهية المسيحيين
لا يمرر الرئيس السيسى خطابًا فى مناسبة دينية، تحديدًا ليلة القدر إلا ويبذل محاولة حثيثة لخلخلة الأفكار المهيمنة على العقل المصرى بفعل عقود من الكراهية المزمنة التى يستبطنها بعض الذين جبلوا على كراهية المسيحيين.
الرئيس ونفر من المستنيرين يكافحون الكراهية بلا كلل وبأمل، ولكنها للأسف كراهية متغلغلة فى نفوس خبيثة، فيروس الكراهية ضرب البلد، ينتقل كالوباء بين الناس بالأَنْفَاس، إنهم ينفثون حمماً فى وجوه إخواتنا المحبين، يكرهونهم كراهية التحريم، ويكفرونهم فى قعور بيوتهم، ويضيقون عليهم فى الطرقات، وكما أحرقوا كنائسهم يوماً بطول البلاد، يودون لو لم يبصروها بأعينهم من فرط حقد قلوبهم.

Islamic scholar ‘says Allah allows Muslim men to RAPE non-Muslim women to humiliate them'
AN ISLAMIC professor has allegedly claimed Muslim men are allowed by Allah to rape non-Muslim women in order to “humiliate” them.

Saud Saleh allegedly made the comments on television
Professor Saud Saleh – from Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt – reportedly said rape is allowed between times of “legitimate war” between Muslims and their enemies.
The controversial professor allegedly said slavery existed before Islam and anyone could trade “freeborn men and women” but that Islam put slavery “into order” by regulating when it was allowed.

طردت سريلانكا 600 أجنبي، بينهم 200 رجل دين إسلامي، منذ اعتداءات عيد القيامة التي اتهمت السلطات جماعة التوحيد الاسلامية الجهادية المحلية بتنفيذها، بحسب ما أكد وزير الداخلية يوم الأحد 5 مايو 2019.
قال وزير الداخلية فاجيرا أبيواردينا إن الدعاة الإسلاميين دخلوا البلاد بشكل قانوني، لكن تبين، بعد العملية الأمنية التي تلت الاعتداءات، أنهم تجاوزوا المدة المحددة في تأشيرات الدخول. وفرضت عليهم غرامات نتيجة ذلك، وتم طردهم من الجزيرة.

Sri Lanka expels 200 Islamic clerics after Easter attacks
Sri Lanka's home affairs minister said some 200 clerics were expelled from the island amid a security crackdown in the aftermath of the Easter Sunday attacks.
Sri Lanka has expelled over 600 foreign nationals, including around 200 Islamic clerics, since the Easter suicide bombings blamed on a local jihadi group, a minister told AFP on Sunday.
Home Affairs Minister Vajira Abeywardena said the clerics had entered the country legally, but amid a security crackdown after the attacks, were found to have overstayed their visas. Fines were imposed and they were expelled from the island as a result, the minister said.
