Replacing the U.S. Constitution with the Koran

Daniel Pipes

Back in 2004, I noted the disbelief that greets me "when I explain that the Islamist goal is to take over the United States and replace the Constitution with the Koran." Five years later, it's still the case,

Today marks the 57th anniversary of a sad hour of Egyptian history in the 20th century.  On July 23, 1952 people of Egypt woke up to a message being aired over Egyptian airwaves stating that a military group made up of free officers took over the country.

The announcer was no other than a person who would win a Nobel Peace Prize for a peace treaty he made with Israel in 1978 -- Anwar El Sadat.

The recent murder of a Egyptian who was Muslim occurred couple of weeks ago in Dresden, Germany had made great news in Egypt and in the Arab world. The Germans handled the murder in the normal way that news of this sort is normally handled.

MINNEAPOLIS — The Carlson School of Management rises from the asphalt like a monument to capitalist ambition. Stock prices race across an electronic ticker near a sleek entrance and the atrium soars skyward, as if lifting the aspirations of its students. The school’s plucky motto is “Nowhere but here.”

The Role of the Egyptian Security in Violence Against Christian Copts‏

(AINA) -- In less than two weeks, Muslim mobs carried out collective punishment on Copts in three villages stretching from Upper Egypt to the Nile Delta. These attacks included assaults, torching, and looting of Coptic homes and shops, forcing the terrorized villagers to abandon their possessions and flee to safety.

Dr Ahmed Fathi Sorour, the Speaker of Egypt's People’s Assembly (since 1990) published an article titled “Between Freedom of Expression and Freedom of Belief,” which occupied 24 pages of the March 2009 issue of the Assembly's quarterly review. He later published an abridged version in Al-Hayat newspaper (May 14) and Al-Ahram (May 20, 21).

NEW YORK — I am a Muslim, I am a feminist and I detest the full-body veil, known as a niqab or burqa. It erases women from society and has nothing to do with Islam but everything to do with the hatred for women at the heart of the extremist ideology that preaches it.

The Persecution of Egypt's Coptic Christians Continues

(AINA)

The persecution and discrimination against the Christian Copts in Egypt takes many forms; the most obvious manifestation is limiting their freedom to practice their religious rites, sometimes through violent means. Many believe such acts of violence takes place due to the Egyptian Government's attitude of failing to apply deterrent laws on assailants on one hand, and the increase in 'Muslim mob justice' of taking the law in their own hands without fear of retributive justice, on the other.

The hotly contested presidential election in Iran between Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is still unfolding, with uncertain results. But regardless of the outcome, the events in Iran are symptomatic of a larger change in the political landscape of the Middle East -- the revival of a regional freedom movement, which stalled in 2006 after the election of Hamas in Palestine.

Sabatino Moscati, the Italian archeologist, in a comparative study of ancient civilizations (1) notes that                 In this oasis (ancient Egypt) we witness the flowering of the longest cultural period in human history: three thousand years in history, following an incalculable period of pre-history; a continuous cultural tradition uninterrupted by changes and stratifications that are characteristic of the other civilizations of the ancient orient. Perhaps that is why ancient Egypt represents a human experience more serene, more joyful, and more vivacious than any other …

For Radical Islam, the End Begins

Is history ending yet again?

Much as the hammers that leveled the Berlin Wall in 1989 marked the end of the Cold War, so might the protests rocking Iran signal the death of radical Islam and the challenges it poses to the West.

Exclusive: Radical Muslims Abuse Western Lawfare Systems to Advance their Jihad Agenda

Dr. Sami Alrabaa

If Christian and Jewish religious symbols are criticized and satirized, most people do not care. Nobody takes to the street to demonstrate violently against the “culprits.” A long history of enlightenment and freedom of expression has tamed the majority of Christians and Jews. They accept religious freedom as a civilized fact of life.

Ramifications of a Possibly Armed Muslim Brotherhood

IPT

An Egyptian newspaper claims the Muslim Brotherhood may have constituted a large, well-armed wing, with perhaps thousands of operatives, and its purpose is to engage in terrorist operations.

The report, published May 27 in Egypt's Al-Masry Al-Youm, carried the headline, "Why is Security Silent About the Secret Armed Organization of the Brotherhood?" A potential mission for this Muslim Brotherhood armed division would be to send 10,000 trained fighters to south Lebanon (Hezbollah territory) and to Gaza to attack Israel.

Religious freedom in Muslim countries - where is it?
One News

cross in cuffs persecutionA Christian group that monitors religious persecution says Muslim countries should respond to President Barack Obama's conciliatory speech in Egypt by respecting their own citizens' religious rights.

Dr. Carl Moeller, president of Open Doors USA, says while he has no problems with Obama reaching out to the Muslim world, many still do not understand the dangers faced by Christians in such countries.
